Meet Our Staff

The Rev. Matthew B. Braddock, Pastor The Rev. Matthew ("Matt") Braddock is the 40th called pastor of the Trumbull Congregational Church. He bagan his ministry here in 2004. Rev. Braddock has been pastoring churches since 1997, the year he was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister of Word and Sacrament. He brings to TCC a preaching style with a rich biblical foundation, one that seeks to challenge worshippers to apply the gospel to life and life to the gospel. He also has considerable experience developing youth programs for junior and senior high school students.
Rev. Braddock earned his Master of Divinity, with honors, in 1997 from Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Centre, MA. In 1992, he graduated cum laude from Gordon College in Wenham, MA, with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a double major in English and Biblical & Theological Studies. Pastor Braddock has completed an extensive number of continuing education programs, including "Helping Survivors of Catastrophic and Unexpected Loss" and "Bowen Systems Leadership Education." He is also certified as a Bereavement Facilitator, and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Hartford Seminary. The topic of his research is how to apply narrative theories to affect organizational change.
Rev. Braddock lives in the Parsonage with his wife, Chris, and four children; Zoe and Nate, Rose and Desiree. He likes to ride his bike, garden, strum his guitar, read and, most importantly, discuss sermons with "The Reverend Stanley James Braddock", ordained minister of the Universal Church of Life and family Bichon.

Adam Podd, Music Director
A Vermont native, Adam Podd is a pianist, composer, arranger, and producer/engineer currently living in New York City. In New York he is an active on several music fronts. He is a pianist for various music classes, geared toward young children and their introduction to music.
He holds a Bachelor of Music from The Hartt School in Hartford, CT, where he studied music production technology, piano, and tuba. Adam has recorded and produced several albums including singer-songwriters, choral ensembles, and jazz combos. He also spent several months working at New York Noise, a commercial music house in the West Village. Adam enjoys a diverse career consisting of work as a church musician, music director, pit musician, and pianist for any occasion. He is often collaborating on projects with his colleague, and twin brother Matt Podd.
The Podd Brothers' most recent project is a CD of their recorded piano arrangements of favorite hymn tunes, formatted as a complete worship service, with each element of the service represented by a piece of music. Selina Tiesler, Director of Christian Education Selina is currently in the undergraduate program at Southern Connecticut State University where she studies education. She began as TCC's Director of Christian Education in October, 2006. A graduate of Trumbull High School, Selina divides her time between school, work, and life at home. Selina was confirmed as an active member of the church in 2000. "Miss Selina", as the children here known her, runs the CE program in conjunction with the Board of Christian Education. She brings warmth, professionalism and vitality to our Church School program.
Kathleen Hering, Administrative Assistant Kathy was born and raised in Trumbull where she graduated from Trumbull High School. She has been associated with Trumbull Congregational Church since she was a young girl and she was confirmed in the church. Over her years at TCC she has been involved with Women's Connection, the Victorian Teas and Festival of Tables and the Past & Presents Shop. Kathy has also served on the Outreach, Stewardship and Trustees Boards and Church Council. She is the mother of four adult children and she has been working at TCC since 1991.
