YOUTH DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

The Youth Director will be responsible for the planning, management and running of the Youth Program.
Major responsibilities for the Youth Program coordination include:
- Plan and facilitate weekly Middle School Youth Group meetings.
- Initiate and develop a new Senior High School Youth Group Program.
- Encourage spiritual and community growth among Youth Program participants.
- Serve as liaison and maintain open communication with parent and church member volunteers.
- Coordinate outreach projects (4/year) for the Middle School Youth Group.
- Working with the pastor, provide emotional and spiritual support to program participants when needed.
- Serve as a resource person, evaluating and researching current curriculum, events and related materials and encouraging the use of available resources.
- Oversee Youth Program participation in special events of TCC, in conjunction with Pastor, Director of Christian Education, Outreach and others.
- Regular participation in the worship life of the Church.
Major responsibilities for Management include:
- Contribute to monthly meetings of the Christian Education Board, as well as regular meetings with the pastor.
- Recommend annual budget to the Board of Christian Education.
- Write and present annual report to the congregation, in conjunction with Board of Christian Education.
- Write articles, as needed, for the church newsletter (the Crier) as well as announcements in the weekly Sunday Church Bulletin
Trumbull Congregational Church (TCC) will support and cooperate with the Youth Director in every possible way and will assume responsibility for:
- Encouraging youth participation in the programs offered.
- Volunteering to serve in the Youth Program.
Hours and Compensation:
- The position is part time, hourly, and as such, not eligible for full-time employee benefits.
- The Youth Director is required to work an average of 8 hours/week with the Middle School Ministry.
- The Church will pay up to an additional 8 hours/week for time spent developing the Senior High School Ministry.
The Youth Director will work a maximum of 16 hours/week for 40 weeks/year at $17 an hour, with twelve weeks (96 hours) of unpaid vacation during the summer.
