Boards, Committees & Teams
Board of Outreach:TCC's Board of Outreach provides the congregation with many different ways to share God's love with the community by serving those less fortunate. The programs we host touch people locally, nationally and globally. We regularly support St. Luke's food pantry; the Greater Bridgeport Department of Children and Families (with donations of clothing, furniture, Easter baskets, Christmas gifts) and AmeriCares Homefront Day (first Saturday in May). Board of Christian Education: The Board of Christian Ed offers educational programming for TCC children, youth and adults through the church nursery, Sunday School (preschool-8th grade) and fellowship events. Visit our TCC Kids page to learn more about our child-friendly programming.
Board of Deacons: The Board of Deacons supervises the spiritual affairs of the Church. Its members assist the pastor in administering the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion; in overseeing the Confirmation process; and in making sure that the sick and infirm are visited.
Board of Stewardship: The Board of Stewardship is committed not only to maintaining the financial health of the church, but also to improving it. To this end, the group spends considerable time cultivating and inventorying the talent, experience and financial potential of the congregation. The Board conducts an annual church-wide pledge drive and provides information about donating through bequests, memorial contributions and endowments.
Board of Trustees: The Board of Trustees takes good care of the church property and its facilities. As with any home, there are constant maintenance and improvement needs at TCC. Their goal is to stay on top of the important tasks in order to keep the buildings and grounds clean, safe and appealing to church members. The trustees are thankful for the congregation's support at the bi-annual clean-up days, and whenever a major project is undertaken.
Music Committee: The Music Committee oversees the Church's music programs, which are a highlight of TCC's Sunday services. The Chancel Choir sings every Sunday and the Junior Choristers sing one Sunday a month. Special musical offerings are presented throughout the year. Renaissance Team: The Renaissance Team helps to bring creative programming, technology and new ideas to our historic congregation. Some Renaissance Team initiatives have included The Folks Downstairs Coffeehouse and this website. |
